Top tips for Outsourcing: The Rules of the Virtual Assistant Game

Clients and VAs often complain to us about the quality of outsourcer there is out there… Here at SVA we want to promote best practice so that it reflects well on the whole industry, so we put together some tips on how to outsource your work safely.

Tip 5: Training: Once you have your VAs in place, you need to teach them how you do things – give them templates, give them guidance about how you work, FAQs they might be asked, set them up with an email address that you have access to which they should use for all your work; check they have relevant programmes like Microsoft Office, anti-virus software and design packages.  It’s a good idea to document this set up and have it saved somewhere – it makes it easier to outsource next time too.  I call this setting out the rules of the game: this is how we play it here.
