Typing Tips: Uploads

If you aspire to be an excellent virtual assistant offering typing services, we’re running a series of tips on how to impress your clients.  Keep an eye out every Tuesday in the coming weeks!!!

Many emails will only send a maximum of 10MB which gets used up fast when you’re sending audio files.  Look into providing a secure file upload facility on your website such as www.sendthisfile.com

On a similar vein, make it easy for clients to start working with you – give them tips and advice on buying a digital dictation machine and sending you audio files to type.  You might even want to give them a free trial.

    Hi Caroline

I have found the pay-as-you go secure virtual server ‘sharefile’ to be an enormous asset to my business. If you are constantly sending large files audio and document format then it’s a fantastic platform to have.

Not only can you have the site configered to your business image but you can store, email, upload/download/share files all on the one platform with multiple users and to top it off you can configure each folder stored individually for access permissions and notifications to ensure no-one accesses something they shouldn’t.

It can be a little tricky to understand it all initially but I would say hands down say this has been of enormous importance to the expansion of my business. It enables me to pass work onto other VAs who work alongside me with ease and without the client having to do anything else themselves.

It certainly does make life easier! Also I think having those sort of facilities sends a really important message to your clients: you’re a professional and have invested in equipment to make their lives easier.
