Week 2 – Happy New Year from Clearwater VA

Hello All

Happy New Year and I hope you all had a great festive period.  After my extremely long week 1 introduction I am trying to keep my promise by making sure this second post short, sharp and concise.

This has probably been the first time in my working life where I have actually been excited about getting back to work after the Christmas period.  Having your own business that you want to make successful and profitable really does give you a tremendous level of enthusiasm.

This week’s focus has been to finalise my 12 month marketing strategy plan.  This has included outlining key events I would like to attend, targeting key publications from a PR perspective, understanding and finalising my target markets and compiling a marketing activity grid running from January to December (which includes the finer details such as specific networking events, when to update my website and when to write new press releases).  If anybody has any questions or would like more information on the benefits of this plan then please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Finally something which has been an incredible help to me is the use of a business coach.  During a networking event last year I met a guy who is training to become a coach and he asked to use me as a case study.  I was naturally delighted to accept and after only 1 session I have already found it to be very beneficial.  His name is Jason Gray and his new company is called Change Your World.  The first session took a total of 2 hours and having spoken at length as to why I started the business, what my target area is and what I am hoping to achieve, I received good feedback.  At the end of the session I felt extremely proud and even more passionate about making my business successful.
