|
|
Hey, from what i can tell im not sure if i have the right contracts as there are so many websites out there which say i need different contracts and/or more contracts than i use.
Currently the contracts which i use are:
Terms and Conditions Contract Agreement
Confidentiality Agreement Contract
Standard Contract Agreement
To me this seems ok but i'd rather be safe than sorry - legally. I understand that different contracts are needed for different business types. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Also, what contracts do you use?
Thanks
Regards, Carl |

Hi Carl, around here you'll find most of us use a booking form which must be signed before any work commences, and that has your T's & C's with it.
Basically if you have a look through the old posts on here you'll find the answers to loads of questions like this. At the end of the day everyone has their own opinion - we are all running our own businesses and can do pretty much as we like.
I currently have a booking form, with the T's & C's, and a confidentiality agreement, but as things progress I might need more, retainer contract, etc, all of which has been mentioned previously. _________________ Peter

Erm - subcontract? Basically contracts no matter how good they are are difficult to enforce and act more as a deterrant than anything else. If someone really wants to screw you over they will, which is why more than anything else, listen to what your spider senses tell you!

At the moment i don't subcontract, although i will look into this.
I do have a few more questions... here goes :?
1. With the booking for do you email / fax / post this to clients? Currently i email it.
2. Same question for the confidentiality agreement.. i email this too.
3. On the back of any invoices i place my Terms and Conditions.. i think thats enough.. what would you recommend?
Thanks again,
Regards,
Carl |

Just combine the whole lot into one - make life easy for yourself. This wayyou and client only have to sign one document, not 3. _________________ Sally

Thanks, however this would make the contract very long with what i have, but i suppose not many people actualy take time to read the contracts fully anyway. |

Not sure what the others feel but I reckon that's way too much. You will put off some clients using that many pages.
If I combined my contract & T&Cs (which includes times, rates, outline of job and confidentiality clause) comes to 3 pages max. _________________ Sally
