Towards the end of last year we submitted the 1st and 2nd choice applications for our son's primary school. We applied out of the catchment area so today's letter was very important.
It's celebrations in the Cox household today - we got our first choice ! _________________ Regards

Congratulations on getting your first choice, I know it can be difficult if you are out of the catchment area.
I have a couple of years (I think) before I need to worry about it my son is 2 and has just started nursery and that was a difficult enough choice. _________________ Charlotte Burford

Well done Lynn, getting your first choice AND one out of the catchment area is something to be pleased about.

It is difficult choosing the right school but absolutely vital. Our son has now completed his first half term and is thriving - at the parents' evening just before half term we were told that our son was a pleasure to have in class and was really keen to learn - he's not yet 5!
Also he used to hate letters and wouldn't look at them and now he's reading several words :) - we are very proud of him. _________________ Regards

Hi Lynn
Congratulations on getting your first choice. I know exactly what you're talking about. I've just submitted an application for a Reception Class place for our daughter who goes to First School next September. With being born in October she's just missed out attending school from this September and will be almost 5 when she starts school.
I've also applied to two schools outside our catchment area and we won't know until March 2008 which school she's been assigned. I've deliberately not included a third school because it needs to be one in our catchment area, but I just wouldn't choose to send Elize to any of them.
I'm so impatient and it's driving me mad already that I have to wait until next March. _________________ Angela Dawson
