| I am using Microsoft Outlook 2007 and have just started compiling my contact list. However, if I should need to view these on another computer can this be done. I know I can export my contact list to say gmail and view online but is this necessary. I am also concerned that if my computer goes down I will lose my calendar. |

Yes - if you have Microsoft Exchange server with your webhost, the emails/contact lists an be stored on an online version of Outlook. It is a bit more expensive than normal email hosting though (typically will add about £10/month per email address).
The other alternative is to invest in proper data back up - so if your computer goes down, you can restore it easily and quickly to another computer from a secure online cache. We use www.idrive.com but there are loads out there and they are around £5/month per computer. The advantage of this is that it protects ALL the data on your computer, not just Outlook.
For using Google - I'd really not use Google for any confidential data. It's not secure and you're subject to the whims of a company providing a service for free. They can change the T&Cs at any point. Not really the way to run a business! _________________ To support SVA please donate to: http://tinyurl.com/37urec |
