|
|
At the Remote Employer awards in September, I will be taking a small stand, 2 sq meters, and wondered what to take with me. The stand will be available during the award ceremony from 3:30pm - 7:30pm ish but I won't be there in person the whole time (some time will be spent in the award ceremony itself.
I will have:
Pop up banner
Flyers - both for Your Office Online and Virtual Business in a Box (postcards in this instance)
Business cards - for both companies
I have to bring everything up to London on the train and therefore need to keep it to a minimum but essential items.
I also thought it would be ideal to have some info about Virtual Business in a Box to show off. So, should I also take up a completed' Virtual Business in a Box' box?
Any other ideas on light items to carry up?

Business card draw bowl? Pens/sign up sheet/clipboard for newsletter? Some kind of flyer for people to take away with vital info?
I actually saw something v clever in Staples the other day - Silk paper which you can print through your laser printer making it look like professionally printed materials for low print runs. Dead simple idea but v effective! _________________ To support SVA please donate to: http://tinyurl.com/37urec |

A large bowl of sweets?
This will encourage people over to your stand and whilst unwrapping the sweet they can read/look etc. _________________ Jo Livings

People tend to believe that just about everything on display is available to take away so I suggest you don't leave a sample of your VA Business In Box out on show when you're not there ... cos it won't be there when you get back.
Tablecloth - hides a multitude of sins under the table!!
One of our Small Business Club members suggested using different sized boxes under a cloth to provide height interest that you then display your wares on. Not quite so appropriate for hauling up to London.
How about some shiny balloons to draw the eye.
Get a wheeled cart - these are great for transporting all your conference stuff. _________________ Sally

I did one recently and did a business card raffle for a bottle of cava and two lovely glasses. The day after the event I sent all the people who had put their business cards in the box a quick email saying how lovely it was to meet them and asking who was answering their phones whilst they were at the event. I offered them a discount too to encourage sign ups.
Sweets are a great Idea, and perhaps a great big blank piece of paper for people to write comments about your business on. It encourages interaction and gets you some good feedback.
Have fun :0) _________________ Sara

I agree with all the above - especially sheets where people can leave you a message if you're not there.
As it's an afternoon thing, you might be able to buy the sweets on arrival instead of lugging them up to London.
If you can get a clear bowl for the sweets which looks like glass but is plastic (eg picnic ware) that will be lighter and safer.
Hope it goes REALLY well! _________________ Janet |

Thanks for all your ideas. I may go with giving away one of the books that I am including in my VBinaB box - about personal branding.
A sheet for people to sign up to newsletters I hadn't thought of and the idea of a wheelly case to get everything up there will be good too.
I'm also looking at putting one of my flyers in the goody bag being given out to everyone.
Getting quite excited now and will let you know how it goes.
