Hi Everyone
I hope you're all well.
I've met with a prospective client who, if he comes on board, will want me to manage his diary, emails and probably require access to his contacts. He currently has it all set up in Outlook.
If he signs I'm going to need to sort out access to all the above pretty quickly so I can get started. I was thinking Google Apps might well be the way forward as it will sync with his Outlook. Would you suggest that he shares calender, inbox and contacts with me or provide me with his log on details? Do any of you use Google Apps? What are your thoughts or do you have any better ideas on how I can gain access?
Sorry if this is really obvious but whilst office based I aways just used the delegate option!
Any help gratefully received as it's really worrying me that if he signs I'm going to look like a right useless article!!
Many thanks

Put it this way - I'd happily put my holiday snaps or my Xmas list on Google Docs but there is no way in heck I'd put my credit card details on there.
It depends a bit on whether the information is sensitive. Calendar stuff secured to private? Probably okay. Anything where there's no adverts served up? Also pretty okay. Anything where the ads appear alongside the data? Probably not.
For getting stuff online likes calendars and shared docs? I'd use a combination - we use Google Calendar for non-sensitive data and Smartsheet for most other things (they do have a calendar but it's not got times, just days so far). _________________ To support SVA please donate to: http://tinyurl.com/37urec |

Thanks Caroline
I think you're probably quite right! Although they charge for business use and it's got all these wonderful testimonials from Land Rover Jaguar etc, I had read things which made me worry about the security aspect!
Thanks for your help.
