Hi, I am Jacky Ruth I live in Chester-le-Street and am just starting out as a Virtual Assistant
I am so pleased that i found the website - it is pretty scary stuff starting a business!
I would be grateful for any help especially if anyone knows where to get professional indemnity insurance from, many companies wont entertain the idea of a VA who will be helping with a little book-keeping?
Also would anyone be able to reccomend a printer/scanner/fax? There seem to be some good bargains around but am always dubious as to the quality of the printing?

Hi Jacky,

nice to see another North East VA! I'm in Darlington so just down the road :) My apprentice goes to college at Chester le Street with the Durham Business Club. Did you know they are setting up a VA service? Think they'll be using the Business Admin apprentices they have along with their own staff. They sent an email out to all members asking them if they thought there was a need for a virtual administration office in Chester le Street. It may be a good idea to hook up with them for overflow work when they get set up properly.

We have a flat in Chester le Street that we rent out at Sandringham Court so I know the area quite well.

I get my PI from Hiscox who always seem to be the cheapest.

Welcome to SVA - according to Sara you have landed yourself in the middle of VA Central! Lucky you - an instant network!!

Back when we started SVA it was about 7 scottish VAs who were sick of people looking at them strange when they explained they were a virtual assistant - it sort of snowballed from there!!!
