Again - garnering opinions on days of the week for conferences/training. Think about what day you would rather go to a conference and why? Can you get childcare? Do you need to arrange cover for work? Is there a particular time of year when it is easier to get away and do some training or when you need the extra motivation?

Hi Caroline,

For me it would be Wednesday. I think that if you're having a bad week, then it's nice to get out of the office in the middle of it, and then you can be motivated and interested for the rest of the week!

Kind regards
Emma

Wednesday - AKA "Hump Day" which everyone likes to get over and done with. Interesting, hadn't thought of that aspect!

I voted Friday as it would be a "different" working day being out of the office and something to look forward to at the end of the week. Also you have the whole week to deal with what needs doing.

I recently had a training course on a Thursday, which is the busiest day of my working week and although a colleague covered the basics I spent all day (bearing in mind I'm part-time) recovering what was missed while I was away on the course.

I'm in the process of setting up my own networking group for my local area that will be aimed at mums with children at school.
The costs will be lower and the times school friendly.

I went for Friday as you have a fighting chance of getting everything straight ahead of attending. Friday can be a quieter day on the work front with people taking long weekends etc and it means you're less likely to spend lots of time catching up.

Regards

Victoria

I do a breakfast network meeting every Friday morning and I look forward to meeting everyone at the end of the week - cheers me up ready for the weekend.

I also network for lunch one Wednesday a month and it takes forever to catch up on things after it.

Interesting one!! I would have thought Monday, mainly before you get landed with all the usual guff. However, I think a lot of offices have team meetings on a Monday morning to motivate the troops and try to get the week off to a flying start and wouldn't take too kindly to their schedules being disrupted.

I suppose for an all day event I would choose Friday although my networking group usually schedules 2-3 hour meetings for a Thursday and their annual trade show is also on a Thursday.
