As we all know virtual assistance is a huge area and we all have specialist skills and niche markets. In the US lots of VAs specialise in just one profession (e.g. coaching / real estate) - does anyone do this here?

Do you offer something no one else does?
Who do you target?
How did you come up with your ideal audience?
Are there "nightmare clients" out there which you will not work with? Or do you have an ideal client profile who you actively seek to find?
If you were to describe your typical client who would they be?

I offer Legal Secretary Transcription work due to my legal secretary background. This along with general transcription work would be by main service.

Solicitors, Financial Advisors, start-ups, Accountants etc

I started out by looking at my work experience and who I knew etc. I have one client that has referred me a few others which is great as I probably wouldn't have worked with those sectors otherwise.

The clients that forward you an an envelope or bag worth of receipts to be set up in a spreadsheet so that they can pass it onto an accountant as it works out cheaoer than paying the accountant to do it! Plus transcription that is inaudible as the client hasnt considered background noise etc Arghhhhh

The client that keeps coming back with loads of work!!!!!

I already have my ideal client. A solicitor that forwards me work and doesnt keep checking up on how things are going and one that refers me to others.
