:( I am at the end of my witts - I have created a Powerpoint presentation and added a sound to loop throughout. When I run the slide show everything works OK, but when I emailed the presentation and opened it on my laptop the sound didn't transfer with it.

Ahah I hear you all say the sound needs to be linked or embedded - this is where I must be going wrong. I have created a folder and put the PPT and Wav sound file into it.

I have increased the settings on the general tab to take a larger sound file.

I have removed and then reinserted the Wav sound file in the PPT.

I have saved the PPT using the Save As, Options, Tools, Embedded True Type fonts.

Now just check everything before I email the PPT - guess what when I run the slide show on the same PC there is no sound!!
Any bright sparks out there?

Any suggestions welcomed. Question

Hi Heather

Im going to state the obvious here, but only because I've done EXACTLY the same thing.... Is the sound switched on on the laptop?

I found someone had been in the volume settings of the laptop I was loading up and spent about 40 mins whacking my head off the desk before the blooming obvious occurred to me!!!

Other than that, no idea if the file is properly embedded...

C.

Unfortunately yes - the sound is up on the laptop - I had thought of that one ...

I have sent it over to my nephew who is going to have a look at it - he has recently graduated from Queens University with an IT degree so I am going to make him use his up-to-date knowledge.

Thanks
