Hi all, my name is Andrea Webb & I have just launched my new VPA business a few weeks ago 'Distinctive Assistants' www.distinctiveassistants.co.uk
After being employed as a PA for 6ish years I had my son last sept and at the beg of this year I had started looking into childcare costs and communting and realised to return to work wasn't going to be financially viable. So, here I am, a new business owner and very much looking forward to getting some business through the door! Any advice/help in getting that first client through the door would be much appreciated.....(I have a few networking events lined up in the next month so that will be my first port of call). Hi Andrea -welcome to SVA - there are great tips and ideas for everything on this Forum.

Getting you 1st client - well that is really down to getting your name out there. Use as many of your friends and family as you can. Get them to tell everyone what you are doing - it is amazing how the word filters out. My 1st client was a friend of a girl my sister works with and the 2nd was an ex work colleague!!

Perseverance is the key...
