Woo hooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
Finally my Innuity foot pedal works with ExpressScribe on my Windows Vista PC - I'm a happy bunny (in case you hadn't noticed)!
What caused this revelation? My Window XP laptop is over three years and started making a loud noise when the internal fan kicked in. The laptop is my backup machine and has been the only way I could efficiently handle transcription because I get in a muddle with the keyboard shortcuts that I needed to use on the Vista PC. If I had to replace the laptop I would be forced to have Vista on both machines and then my timings would have got slower as a battled with the keyboard shortcuts.
The important thing is to share how:
A few weeks ago Windows Update downloaded Vista's Service Pack 1 and I installed. ExpressScribe have released version 1.9, which I have now installed on the Vista PC. I thought I would try the foot pedal and plugged it in, opened ExpressScribe and went to set up the foot pedal and it worked first time .
No more working on transcription on the laptop sat on the sofa and ending up with backache for me! _________________ Regards

Thanks for sharing this with us Lynn. I'm sure it will help lots of others as compatibility for trancription software and hardware seems to be something of an issue for many VAs. _________________ Sally

I might have to try downloading this new version of Express Scribe. I have Vista and although after hours of trying to work this out when I first got the new laptop I have been able to use it, the only way I have been able to use it is by uninstalling and reinstalling Express Scribe every time I need to start a new transcription. I know this is not a terrible thing but it is just a bit annoying and if I could avoid that it would be great.
Thanks for letting us know Lynn. _________________ Yvette Segal

Glad you are now in working mode :)
At the business start up show I checked out the microsoft stand for a tour of Microsoft 2007. The guy mentioned the Vista service pack should fix a few teething problems...
Very timely for you :) |
