Hi, my name is Sharon and I live in the Kingston area. I am in the process of setting up a VA business from home now that my son is in full-time school and my daughter in nursery every afternoon. I will be doing this part-time for a while and will be keeping my evening job at a local college but I'm perfectly happy to start small and slow and, hopefully, grow over the next couple of years. The hardest thing is going to be getting out there and promoting myself.
One idea I've had as a starter is to send flyers to all my friends, family and other contacts so that if they know or hear of anyone in desperate need of admin help they can pass my details on to them. Has anybody else tried this? What do you think?
I have had a look around the site and already found plenty of useful info which I hope I can add to in time.
It's great to 'meet' you all.
Sharon

I would let previous employers know what you are doing, as this had proved to work well as I have two of my previous employers as clients, and one of them is my main client.

Hi Sharon,
My old boss from Sony used to live in Kingston - it's such a lovely area! She is a bit of an inspiration actually - she started her own business and bought an AMAZING house in Suffolk - a real "forever" house!
From acorns etc. and I'm sure it will be the same for you!

Hello Sharon - good luck with your new business! I'm just setting up too, so we're in a similar boat.
