Just doing a straw poll on how many people kept Hootsuite once they started charging?
Is it worth the money? _________________ To support SVA please donate to: http://tinyurl.com/37urec |

It annoyed me from start to finish, so I've gone back to Twitter. _________________ Carole Meyrick

I use Hootsuite but don't pay for it, I'm just using the free version. To be honest I've only just started with it properly but the scheduling thing is great! _________________ Sara

I left in a strop when they started charging but have to confess I've returned - nothing else seems to works as well for what I want it to do! _________________ Sara Parr

I still use Hootsuite but on the free version just now. Annoying that you cant have team members now and have to pay for it; or give your twitter login details and they can do it manually but not schedule. _________________ Lyndsey Gilchrist

I find Hootsuite really useful - I mainly use it for scheduling tweets in bulk. So at the start of the month I'll schedule in 30 days worth of tweets (1 tweet a day) and it'll automatically send them each day :) I dont have to worry then about updating my twitter everyday as its done for me. If you think you will get good use out of it then yes its worth it!
edit: sorry just noticed this topic is a few months old! hopefully this still helps. _________________ Laura :)

Hootsuite is a tool where you can manage lots of your social media interactions. On the freebie version you can have 5 accounts (I have Twitter, my personal FB, FB Fan Page, LinkedIn and Google+). You can schedule tweets and posts and set up all kinds of streams to follow what's going on (I have one set up to see what my clients are tweeting).
I also use it to schedule social media for clients.
You need to have a play with it 'cos it's a bit of a Marmite thing. There are other similar things like Tweetdeck and Social Oomph and Buffer, but Hootsuite is the one I've found works best for me.

Hi Debs,
Yep I use Buffer on and off, you can link it to Flipboard and post loads of interesting stories - you just need the time to play with these things :-)
