Still not sure I understand twitter but I gave in and joined I am @hlsbs

Seems like a very shrunk version of Facebook, but joined just in case I was wrong!!

I have registered as a twitterer too, @officeoutsource. I spent an evening reading online stuff about it but have still not been able to dip my toe in the water for fear of being a complete bore! I know that there is not a lot of excitement goes on in my life, but how do I make it sound appealing to the general twitter public? Will make it my weekend "to do" task to finally make my twitter debut. Watch that space! :?

I've just set up a Twitter account - @all_va but I'm totally baffled by it! I'm so used to good old Facebook. I need to get reading this forum and learn about how to tweet!

I LOVE twitter! It's such an instant tool, and for interaction when you're working alone it's a pretty good substitute. I know of restaurants where 80% of their bookings now come through twitter, and know of some where you couldn't pay for followers as they just self-plug. (take note Jamie Carragher!)

The connections I've made through it have been unbelievable, and my LinkedIn looks a bit better for knowing them anyway!

I volunteered to help with Liverpool Twestival (held in March this year) and ended up doing it all alone(!!), and through twitter raised some money for Concern Worldwide as part of a global one night event, all marketed & sold through twitter. Globally we raised just under £300,000 - by "using social media for social good" - making a lot of good connections and friends along the way. ( http://twestival.com/results/ << Twestival total )

I'm on SVA and LinkedIn and Facebook and a Google Group and a business network, plus a Google Group and two forums I don't now participate in. I get emails and phone calls and texts. I get letters and magazines and e-newsletters and junk mail and catalogues and brochures and...anything else would be just Too Much Information! Rolling Eyes

So sorry everyone, I gave in where Facebook was concerned but I resolutely refuse to join Twitter!

But you all enjoy your tweeting and toowit/toowooing.
