Just a quick line to update you all the 'new venture' I mentioned earlier in the year.
Although still a few things to sort out, mainly me writing the rest of my guide to setting up and completing on the contracts etc with solicitors (I have the drafts, just not got around to reading them yet!), and just a little more tweeking on the new website.
I have got the web site up and running, although not all products are on sale (as mentioned above) and would welcome another (or a few) pair of eyes going over the website for typos etc. You can find it here: www.virtualbusinessinabox.co.uk
Just need to get everything in one sock as we say in the Navy and sort the rest out to get it launched, a little later than planned but hey ho.

Hi Dawn,
I've just had a look at your new VBinaB website & it looks fantastic! I think the products you're offering are brilliant & is something I could've used a year ago without doubt!
You asked for us to spot any typos which may be there - I'm afraid I found some (sorry!), albeit tiny ones!
On the home page when the slideshow is on the Templates section, "Contract" has the "a" missing and "Agreement" is missing the "n".
In the Walking Tall book description - first line "successful" needs the 2nd "l" deleting.
In the V A Handbook description - 1st paragraph - check spelling of "entrepreneurs" and "done"
In the Financial Template page, check spelling of "spreadsheet".
In Option 1 Box - #2 Website Design Voucher - 2nd line "You" should be your.
As I said they're only small, I didn't get chance to read all of it (my dinner's ready! ) but it looks great.
I hope the launch goes well.
Regards,
Sharon

Hi Dawn, great looking website, brilliant idea too, I wish I could afford them at this stage of my VA life!
Just a couple of minor things:
1)
http://www.virtualbusinessinabox.co.uk/products/the-box/cat_6.html
Box 2 comes before box 1 - I'm not sure if this is intentional though :)
2)
Terms and Conditions #6 - There is a double space between are unable
3)
Client template pack - • Job Request form - useful to help clients to decide on services they requrie
Wishing you lots of success with it :) _________________ Jo Livings

Thanks for the 'pick ups'. The oder of the products is a random thing with Cubecart, the e-commerce program. However, have just paid for a mod which I need a spare hour to upload and install which should allow me to order products on home page and within the categories.
Will sort out tomorrow.
One little bug bear of mine though - you don't have a signature line set up so don't know what your 'real' name is - perhaps a quick check within your profile and setting up a signature line will sort.
Enjoy your evening.

Following my earlier email regarding my new website, would love some feedback on comments a web design company I know have made:
"1) The logo at the top needs to be higher-res. It's got jagged edges and doesn't look as good as the other graphics. - This now sorted
2) I'm not a huge fan of moving images/graphics on a page - unless they add to the beauty/quality of the design/image/look. Your VBiB banner is fine as it has good info. The rest are a jumble of words that just distract me. If you want moving images etc, I'd go for some business images - open folders, documents, web/PC screens, office shots etc. The banner area takes up a lot of space too. - Have made some changes to time scale of moving image so that it can be read more easily. The images chosen represent the products being sold and I am not selling an office or PC...
3) Viewers will have to go a long way down the page to get to the meat of your offering. If the VBiB banner part could be shrunk and placed to one side then visitors would immediately see what the site is about. As it is they get only 5 seconds (tops) to read it before the next screen appears. - answer as above re time scale.
4) Like your YOO site, it's a bit monochrome blue. That's OK as long as it makes a great overall impression. - my logo etc is blue which is why I picked this colour!
5) The Box option 1 and 2 boxes could be a bit more interesting/attractive. I like the idea of having your main products presented prominently on the front page but I think they should stand out a bit more and be more engaging/attractive. - Still waiting for the product to be complete before having professional photos taken. A video will also be produced which will show what's in the box
I'm guessing that you've still got a lot of work to do on the organisation of the site as the Option 1 and 2 boxes don't work and going via Products, the web vouchers are incorrectly labelled. - This now sorted.
Overall it looks good but doesn't grab me. That's from a personal point of view. It'll be interesting to hear what other, non-design/web people have to say."
I have made some changes (see after the hyphens in the paras concerned), however, would love feedback from the type of people this site is aimed at ie VAs.

Hi Dawn
Being a new VA is the early stages of setting up my business, I guess I'm probably your key audience.
My personal opinion of the site and what the web designer has said:
1) I don't think it really needs to be, the way it is works, I honestly don't think it needs to be a higher res, to me it looks real like you've created it, giving me inspiration for creating something on my own site, rather than some hugely fancy graphics you get on other sites!
2) I like the moving images - it makes me feel like the site is alive!
3) Scrolling down to see things, doesn't bother me.
4) I like this website too!
5) I think possibly these would benefit from standing out a little more with a graphic, that you've mentioned is already in the pipeline. Also it might be good to move the boxes to be central under the box above.
Apart from point 5, I think its a good site, I like the concept, and have said many times, if my circumstances were different I would have purchased one of the boxes, but I wasn't working before set up and therefore what I spend on Seeking Serenity is limited! _________________ Jo Livings

Hi Dawn,
1. Still not very good, particularly in comparison with the larger image.
2. I agree that the words are a bit of a jumble and that the banner is too big. Personally I would have it covering 3/4ish with a panel on the right containing the Options.
Options - doesn't clearly identify the difference between 1 and 2 because at first sight they look identical. I would prefer a list without all the blurb at the beginning.
Graphics - it would be nice to have the box open and the text flow out and then settle as a list on the right for each of subject areas i.e. Legal, Design/Marketing, etc. that gradually builds up layers of subject dividers (sorry getting carried away).
There are some typos and don't forget you need to put on your Registered Office address and Company Reg no. Use of capitals is inconsistent. White against the light blue is difficult to see.
Personally I think you need some more colour/images. It doesn't all need to be shades of blue. _________________ Sally
